Content Use & Ownership Policy
Effective: July 22, 2026
This policy explains how the content inside the Virtue and Valor platforms (together, the "Service") may and may not be used. It supplements the Terms & Conditions and is binding on every account holder. By creating an account, starting a trial, or continuing to use the Service, you acknowledge and agree to this policy.
1. What is covered
"Content" means everything produced, published, curated, generated, or made available through the Service, including but not limited to:
- Daily virtues, devotionals, prayers, and scripture commentary.
- Deep Dives, Deep Studies, 5-day walks, and journal prompts.
- Apologetics questions, AI-generated answers, and thread summaries.
- Parent, teen, women's (Virtue), and men's (Valor) curriculum and guides.
- Worship playlists and PDFs generated inside the Service.
- Wisdom library entries, announcements, imagery, badges, names, and brand marks.
- Software, UI, copy, structure, and design of the Service itself.
2. Ownership
All Content is owned by Taylor Matthews and the Virtue App Team, or licensed to us by its rightful owner (for example, scripture translations, third-party resources, or contributed media). Nothing in the Service transfers ownership, trademark rights, or any derivative-work rights to you.
You retain ownership of your own journal entries, prayer requests, community posts, and comments, subject to the limited license described in the Terms so we can host and display them.
3. Your license to use Content
While your account is in good standing, we grant you a personal, limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to access and use the Content for your own spiritual growth and study. This license ends automatically if you cancel, if we suspend or terminate your account, or if you breach this policy.
4. What you must not do
You may not, and may not permit anyone else to:
- Recreate or clone the Service, any Deep Dive, Deep Study, curriculum, or program — in whole or in substantial part — for any other app, website, course, podcast, book, coaching program, or ministry offering.
- Copy, reproduce, republish, repost, or redistributeContent — including screenshots, exports, PDFs, or transcripts — outside the Service, whether free or paid.
- Claim authorship or ownership of any Content, or present it as your own original work, teaching, or curriculum.
- Remove or alter attributions, watermarks, author credits, brand names ("Virtue", "Valor", "The Virtue App Team"), or copyright notices.
- Use the Content or Service name to imply endorsement, affiliation, partnership, ordination, or certification that has not been granted in writing.
- Use Content to train, fine-tune, evaluate, or ground any machine learning model, or to scrape, crawl, or bulk-export the Service.
- Resell, sublicense, rent, or share your account, trial link, or invite link with anyone outside your household.
- Use Content in a way that is unlawful, misleading, defamatory, harmful to minors, or contrary to the Christian mission of the Service.
5. Personal use we do allow
- Reading, listening to, and reflecting on Content inside the app.
- Writing in your own journal, prayer space, and community threads.
- Downloading a Deep Study PDF for your own study, unmodified, with credits intact.
- Quoting short passages (roughly one paragraph) in personal conversation or private study, with clear attribution to Virtue / The Virtue App Team and a link back to the app.
- Sharing your invite link with friends who may want to try the Service.
6. AI-generated Content
Apologetics answers, summaries, and other AI-assisted outputs are part of the Service and are covered by this policy. They are provided for personal study, are not a substitute for pastoral counsel, and may not be republished, resold, or presented as your own writing or teaching.
7. Community contributions
Posts, comments, prayer requests, and journal shares belong to their author. Do not screenshot, quote, forward, or republish another member's contributions outside the Service without that member's explicit permission. Treat every space — Sisters, Brothers, Parent, and Teen — as a confidential circle.
8. Reporting misuse
If you see Content being copied, recreated, or falsely attributed elsewhere, please report it through the in-app support channel or via our contact details. We take infringement seriously and will pursue takedowns and other remedies available under copyright, trademark, and unfair competition law.
9. Enforcement
Violating this policy is a material breach of the Terms & Conditions. We may, without notice, remove Content, revoke your license, suspend or terminate your account, cancel trials or subscriptions without refund, and pursue any legal or equitable remedies available to us, including injunctive relief and damages.
10. Updates
We may update this policy as the Service grows. Material changes will be announced in-app. Continued use after a change means you accept the updated policy.
